Why do Church in Small Groups?
The goal and focus of small groups is to connect people together outside of Sunday morning worship service. In order to create a network of healthy relationships within the church to share the trials of life with others who care and can relate. We offer different types of groups that are designed to meet the different stages of life people are in. Along with that the teaching is designed to be sensitive to this as well. We believe that in order for small groups to work and thrive. groups need tp be commited and consistent. Groups typically meet every other week with some meeting weekly.
Along with the different groups meeting; it is still vital to have the fellowship of the church at large. This is why every fifth Sunday we bring the groups together to connect adults into a larger picture so they do not feel disconnected from the church outside of Sunday morning. This also provides a way for people to share what is going on in their group and encourage each other with worship and prayer.
Small groups are celebrated here at MCC. It is good to talk about, and encourage others to stay committed and on board as this is the way church is done here at MCC. Doing this creates a culture of support and discipleship in the church overall and is very positive for all involved!
