Why do Church in Small Groups?
The goal and focus of Life groups is to bring people together outside of Sunday morning worship. We do this in order to create a network of healthy relationships within the church to share the trials of life with others who care and can relate. We offer different types of groups that are designed to meet the different stages of life people are in. The study topics are sensitive to this as well. We believe that in order for small groups to work and thrive, groups need to be committed and consistent. Life groups typically meet in people’s homes or at the church, with some meeting weekly, every other week, or monthly.
Along with the different groups meeting, it is still vital to have the fellowship of the church as a whole. This is why we bring the groups together several times a year so they do not feel disconnected from the other groups. This also provides a way for people to share what is going on in their group and to encourage one another with worship and prayer.
Life groups are celebrated here at MCC. It is good to talk about and encourage others to stay committed and on board as this is the way church is done here at MCC. Doing this creates a culture of support and discipleship in the church overall and is very positive for all involved!
